General Job Details
The job entails working on a whole variety of electrical installations including but not limited to; all types of domestic, commercial & industrial installations comprising; general lighting & power installations, fire alarms, emergency lighting, computer wiring etc. The object is to become a fully qualified electrician. You will learn though practice under the supervision of qualified staff.

Installations are carried out using the following wiring methods which you will become fully conversant with; PVC/PVC cables installed flush, PVC cables in conduit & trunking (metal & plastic) PVC/SWA/PVC cables, MICC cables.

The ability to use ones initiative and assist electricians to the highest standards is essential.

You will become capable of reading and understanding drawings, taking off quantities and ordering materials and completing the works to the highest standards as required by our clients who include Housing Associations, Local Authorities, Consultants and Architects.

You will become familiar with and be able to ultimately demonstrate an overall basic understanding of BS7671 (16TH Ed. IEE Regulations).

You will learn how to carry out inspection & testing of both newly completed & existing installations to the standards required in BS7671.

Training Centre
Some of the companies training functions are carried out by an external training organisation. When attending the training organisation or Technical College it is the apprentice's responsibility arrange and pay for their own transport.

Qualifications
Attendance at technical college on day release and the taking and passing of City & Guilds certificates 236 pt 1 & 236 pt 2 is required for the continuation of the apprenticeship.

Driving
Obtaining a full clean UK driving licence (at your own cost) within the period of your apprenticeship will be required.
